A Red Mac Pro that looks a million bucks and costs nearly as much. Jonathan (Jony) Ive, Design VP, Apple and Marc Newson customised Apple Inc’s newest computer, in stunning red colour, for the RED auction. This work of art commanded a massive $977000 (710,582 EUR) at Sotheby’s auction in New York. Earnings from auction will advance towards a global fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. The Red Mac Pro is 25 cms. tall and 16.8 cms. in diameter. It weighs about 5 Kgs.
Made in red anodised aluminium , the Red Mac Pro is the only one of its kind, ever made. It was expected to fetch between $40k-60k but sold nearly 16 times higher, for nearly a million dollars!!

Total earning of the Red auction is $12.9 million.
