At SIHH 2019, HYT will reveal in flesh and liquid its new iteration of the liquid powered time telling system. The Geneva watch show HYT 2019 launch will be called H20 »TIME IS FLUID. Powered by mechanical energy, the regular hand pointing at hours is replaced by a coloured liquid pushing time in a Borosilicate glass capillary tube. Apart from the Red fluidic hours, the HYT H2O Time is Fluid watch tells minutes and seconds. There is a Crown position indicator (H-N-R) and a Power reserve on case back.
A three-dimensional design language is the signature of a product committed to presenting time as a spatial entity to be viewed from all angles. In a contemporary aesthetic innovation, digital displays flash up the now as an isolated piece of information. A diamond guilloché decoration on the minute and second discs and the main plate add a breather to the complex open movement. A closer look at the HYT 2019 launch reveals the offset diffusion of the patterns on the counters. The latter emphasises the respective rhythms and layering of the time units, as well as the powerhouse represented by the regulating bellows. Colored and clear liquids trace the paths of elapsed and pending time respectively.
H20 »TIME IS FLUID« will launch in two versions; 18 carats yellow gold (2N) and stainless steel. Both are limited editions.
I find this HYT (Hydro Mechanical) watch a little more attractive than the ones launched in recent past. The height of the watch is higher than the older HYT models. It’s larger transparent case allows the wearer to admire the beautiful mechanics more clearly. The bezel is used more wisely this time. Colours used especially in the gold version create a clever visual contrast. The 18 carat yellow gold (2N) version is polished and satin finished. HYT Time is Fluid measures 51 mm in diameter and 19.95mm in height. Price of HYT Time is Fluid in Gold is CHF 125,000. Price of HYT Time is Fluid in stainless steel is priced at CHF 115,000
