Four years after the debut of the original Aventador, Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce at the Geneva Auto show, this March. This is 4th car in the Lamborghini stable to be accorded the “SV” tag (short for SuperVeloce means “Superfast” in Italian) which is reserved for the meanest machines rolled out by the engineers at Sant’Agata.

Like its SV predecessors & in keeping with tradition, the Aventador SV 2015 version, benefits from a series of modifications aimed at improving performance. While the 6.5-liter V12 engine and the seven-speed automated manual transmission remain the same for this version, Lamborghini has reworked the intake system, the valve timing and the exhaust system which gives the car an even more noticeable growl at higher revs. As a result, the car churns out a mighty 740bhp and 509 lb-ft of torque which is an impressive 50 horses more than the regular Aventador. For Lambo enthusiast, the output numbers are identical to those of the 2013 Veneno.

The car races from naught to 62MPH, before most people can finish saying its name (in 2.8 seconds) & the speed tops out at an impressive 217MPH. We just take Lambo’s word for it. The Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV price is mere USD 500,000! Most people who have the means to buy one of these beauties would probably just be happy ‘knowing’ what their next car can do.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4 features Lamborghini’s pushrod suspension system & has been given adaptive, MR dampers for better cornering. The company’s Dynamic Steering system adapts the steering ratio to the selected driving mode and road speed, working to achieve greater stability. Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV’s overall power to weight ratio is 10 percent more favorable than the standard version, thanks to the 110 pounds of weight advantage it enjoys over the standard version.

Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4 has a number of body mods, including new doors, rocker panels, and fenders and a manually adjustable rear wing mounted on two giant struts, most of which have been rendered in carbon fiber. While you admire the design on the outside – peep inside & you see ultra-light carbon seats & a noticeable absence of carpets & a stereo. Personally, I think a little music would have been nice as a standard feature, especially when you roll out in one of these beasts. But the people at the design center most certainly disagree because the car goes a bit further with every pound of weight they shave off (they seem convinced the brat who is going to buy this car will drive in utter silence!)

In the looks department, I’m still a bit torn between the sharp edged look of the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV versus its older cousin the Lamborghini Murcielago SV, both of which are stunning looking in their own respect. Can’t wait to put them both to test, together, some day!

In conclusion, it takes a lot of talent to take a bad ass car and come up with meaner version of it. I tip my hat in respect to Lamborghini for doing that emphatically with the Lamborghini Aventador SV 2015 version.
