Asia has a New Billionaire Capital

As China’s economy continues to weaken, the wealthy population in the country is dwindling. Beijing that earlier reigned as Asia’s billionaire capital has now been overtaken by Mumbai. While last year, Beijing boasted of 109 US dollar billionaires, this year the number has dropped to 85.

Last year, Mumbai recorded 66 billionaires. This year the number has shot up to 93 ! In India, the wealthy population is rising in several metro cities and not just Mumbai.

A new tier-1 city has become home to India’s third largest billionaire population according to a recently released report by Hurun India.
