Honor as a brand has steadily been increasing its footing in the Indian market. With aggressively priced smartphones across price range, Honor has made a niche for itself. Keeping up to their launch spree, the company has announced its flagship offering for 2018 – Honor View 10, at a larger than life launch event in London.
The Honor View 10 features a large 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The big phone from Honor weighs just 172 grams. Honor’s Artificial Intelligence phone screen has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels which keeps all on-screen content, pin sharp. Honor V 10 has an all metal body with slim bezels surrounding the display which gives it a premium appearance. The View 10 is the first device from Honor to feature a 18:9 aspect screen and a front home button below the screen. The home button also integrates the fingerprint scanner for phone unlock. The phone will come in two colours – Navy Blue and Midnight Black, when it is launched in January 2018.
Hardware specifications include Huawei’s top of the line Kirin 970 processor combined with as 12-core Mali-G72 GPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It comes with a big 3,750mAh battery with integrated Honor SuperCharge technology – the Honor View 10 can charge the battery from 0 to 50% with just 30 minutes of charging time. Honor also claims that their fast charging technology operates at a low temperature and voltage to minimize any heating issues.
Honor View 10 is also the company’s first offering to come with EMUI 8.0 based on the latest Android 8.0. The main highlight of the phone is its AI capabilities. View 10’s Kirin 970 processor includes a Neural-Network Processing Unit (NPU). This NPU is what controls the AI (artificial intelligence) aspect of the phone.
-Honor has integrated AI into the camera app of the View 10. The smartphone is capable of recognizing different scenes when taking photos for the best possible result. User can even change the entire background of the photo on the Honor View 10. For eg if user has taken a picture against the Big Ben , a few editing clicks on this mean machine will allow user to change background to Eiffel tower.
-Honor AI is also capable of recognizing and translating different languages in real-time even without an Internet connection.
-In addition, the AI is integrated with the phone’s user interface in such a way that it learns from the user’s behaviors and optimizes the phone’s performance on a regular basis.
-The face recognaition feature is so smart, that it allows only its owner to read notifications! Not just that. Honor AI phone won’t let anyone unlock your phone by holding it before your sleeping face because the face unlock system works only if the user’s eyes are open.
-Honor has also added a special Gaming Suite on the phone to increases performance of the smartphone while playing games.
Camera enthusiasts will appreciate the rear dual camera setup on the Honor View 10. It has a 16MP + 20MP dual-lens camera with phase detection autofocus for fast focusing. The camera has a f/1.8 wide aperture for superior low light performance, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection, panorama shooting, HDR support and 4k video recording. On the front, it has a 13MP camera with f2.0 aperture to capture clear selfies even in low light environments.
Other features on the Honor View 10 include dual sim slot, expandable storage (uses SIM 2 slot) and USB Type-C port. Connectivity is taken care via 4G, VoLTE, WiFi ac and Bluetooth 4.2
The Artificial Intelligence phone Honor View 10 is priced at 499 euro – Rs 38,000 approx. and will be available from January 8, 2018 in India. It will also be available in other markets including Western Europe (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain), Malaysia, Russia and United States from the same date.
