What’s in store at the 27th Salon International De La Haute Horlogerie (SIHH)? Here’s a sneak peak at the novelties from SIHH 2017
Vacheron Constantin
Vacheron Constantin will be revealing a whole bundle of watches at SIHH 2017. Let us begin unwrapping them with the Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date, reminisces the exactness of the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony collection’s elegant complication while combining a retrograde date indication, graduating from 1 to 31 across the supper dial arc.
The Traditionnelle Minute Repeater Tourbillon is another beauty that blends in two challenging complications. The Vacheron Constantin 2017 watch dial in slate grey and silver tone variations pair in a classic style with platinum and pink gold models. Its highlight is the hand-guilloche motif that finds a place in the brand’s most exclusive timepieces. It makes the dial a true piece of art.
Ulysse Nardin
One watch we are really looking forward to is the Limited Edition Hourstriker Pin-Up watch from Ulysse Nardin’s talented stable. The intricate hourstriker complication is enveloped by a gorgeous display of the peacock’s tail and wing. And every hour, the feathers sweep back to reveal the beauty of a burlesque dancer. Collectors are sure going to lay their eyes on this one!
Ulysse Nardin’s second offering is the beautiful Classico Manufacture “Grand Feu” that brings to life the art of enameling. We loved the translucid blue of the dial and this one is sure to be a head turner, especially with its competitive price point.
Panerai
We are also looking to lay our hands on the Panerai Radiomir 3 Days Acciaio Brevettato watches for its sheer sense of unmistakable Panerai style. Sure we have seen better dive watches from the brand that boasts higher water resistance, but this timepiece is a celebration of Panerai’s role in dive watch history.
And if you are the types who roots for traditional appeal, keep an eye for the faux-patina dial variant. The brown tropical dial imitates the discoloration of lacquered dials due to wear and tear. And they get it bang on!
Baume & Mercier
After treating us to a striking five-minute repeater pocket watch last SIHH and a tourbillon in 2014, Baume & Mercier is all set to present its highly complicated Clifton Perpetual Calendar mens watch.
Crafted in 18-karat rose gold, the domed Baume and Mercier dial in silver opaline and black alligator strap add to its classic appeal. Beating inside is the automatic Vaucher 5401 and the calendar boasts a mechanical memory of 1461 days. This one looks promising.
Roger Dubuis
Adding to their collection of unconventional watches for SIHH 2017, Roger Dubuis has two bold beauties that they will introduce at the Geneva watch show. The Excalibur Quatuor Cobalt MicroMelt and the new Excalibur Spider Skeleton Automatic.
While the former is a cobolt-chrome alloy version of the popular Roger Dubuis Excalibur series, the latter is a new model in the brand’s openwork movement line, with the micro-rotor haloed by bright blue accents. Both the timepieces have a gorgeous blue and red aura going on. Makes them eye-catching for sure.
Audemars Piguet
Finally, we have a stunning SIHH 2017 ladies watch that is going to wow us. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold’s cynosure is the spectacular finish on the bezel, and parts of the case and bracelet.
Called the Florentine technique, gold hammering or simply, frosting, this style is a leaf off jewellery making, adding to the sensual appearance of the timepiece. Both the pink gold with silver dial and white gold with rhodium-toned dial versions of the frosted gold AP watch are going to win the ladies over.
