MB&F SIHH LM101 can be said to be an entry level watch in the brand’s Legacy Machine series of watches. Even though MB&F remains a high-end luxury watch brand, the LM101 series offers a more wearable and affordable alternative as compared to the LM1 and LM2. The Platinum MB&F watch features the breathtaking balancing wheel which seems to be floating in mid-air and the beautifully crafted arches. It’s high-domed sapphire crystal on top, feels almost invisible and every now and then you might feel like reaching for the hovering balance wheel. Two enamel sub-dials are placed on top of the blue sunburst dial indicating the time and the power reserve. Words “Legacy Machine” is engraved and placed neatly in between the two sub-dials on this breathtaking blue dial MB&F watch.
The in-house developed movement or “Engine” as MB&F calls it, is a hand-wound movement. Max Busser the founder of MB&F chose a slow oscillating 18,000 bph movement for LM101, as compared to the usual higher frequency one. The slow oscillations of the movement, lets you enjoy each rotation of the 14 mm balance wheel on the blue dial watch. With 229 individual components and 23 jewels, the movement is exceptionally hand-finished and polished. The single mainspring barrel caliber provides a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. Limited to only 33 pieces, the Platinum MB&F SIHH LM101 proves that the Legacy Machine design of MB&F will never get old.
