Here’s a list of ‘watch-art’ from SIHH 2015. Watches that are as complex on the outside, as on the inside. Quirky shapes, striking designs and some so technically advanced, that they are more likely to occupy space in a museum, than on your wrist.

The Cartier Crash Watch is popular for the story of its evolution. The first crash watch was introduced in 1957, in London. It’s design, inspired from a Cartier watch that was damaged in a car crash. Cartier Crash watches have been produced before in different styles, but the one launched this year is the most advanced of them all. The entire movement is redesigned and restructured, to be shown as ‘art in motion’, in the dial. Calibre 9618 MC with manual winding, powers the watch and can collect 3 days of power reserve.
Look closely and you will realise that the skeleton on the 2015 Cartier watch is made of oversized roman numerals.
SIHH 2014 Parmigiani Bugatti Watches 10th Anniversary: Bugatti Revelation, Bugatti Mythe & Bugatti Victoire
Parmigiani completed 10 years of its partnership with super-car maker, Bugatti, in 2014. The watch brand engineered 3 exhilarating Bugatti watches to commemorate this feat.

The unusual shape of the Bugatti watches ar designed to resemble a block of car engine, tubular shape. The wearer of the Bugatti watch can observe every minute detail of the 337 components comprising the engine block on his wrist thanks to the six sapphire crystals that surround the piece. These crystals mostly have a shape known as “warped”, which follows the contours of the movement without corresponding to a pure geometric formula. The production of these atypical sapphire crystals is unusually complex.Worn like a block of engine on the wrist. tubular shaped movement. This watch was first engineered in 2004 when Parmigiani made the first unusual shaped watch, Bugatti 370.
