Van Cleef Arpels Fairy watch is a statement maker. Wear it with an attire that is sombre, because this piece will surely pull all the attention to its fascinating dial. A predominant Fairy sits pretty at the centre, telling time with her magical wand and wings.
Ferrei jewellery watch is an intelligent mix of haute jewellery, with haute horology. Van Cleef Arpels has used ‘retrograde’ movement to add life to its Fairy. Hands/wings trace an arc, before returning instantly to their initial position, only to begin another journey.
Inside each retrograde-movement timepiece, master watchmakers have inserted elements from the dial’s main design onto some of the mechanism’s components. Van Cleef Arpels’ Fairy gets her power from swiss mechanical movement based on a Jaeger-LeCoultre 846 movement with a retrograde module.
Lady Arpels Féérie Rouge ladies diamond watch is available in 38mm dial in red or blue colour.
Van Cleef Arpels has often found inspiration in imaginary angels . Lady Arpels Féérie Rouge is an interpretation of such imagination.
To enhance the spellbinding effect of Fairy’s presence, a mystic dial background is created. The Fairy is set on top of a patterned red or blue enamel background. Crafted in white gold and decorated with diamonds., the Fairy uses her wand to point at hours and wings to tell minutes and seconds.
I truly enjoyed having the watch on my wrist (for a few hours). Every element of the watch is built to compliment the central figure like the blue shimmery strap that matched just fine with the electric blue dial.
While I glanced at Fairy watch every now and then, to admire the dial’s magical composition, I realised that VCA must have gone through several trial and error episodes before getting the design, right. Only a perfectionist can create such an elegant animated dial .
