Vertu Aster is the third luxury phone launched by Vertu, this year. New Vertu Aster phone is assembled with an understated design and is priced the lowest among all Vertu devices, launched this year. Vertu Aster price is £4,200 in London and Vertu Aster price in India is INR 4,75,000 onwards.
This year, first two devices Vertu Signature Touch and Vertu Constellation New, made their mark by brining latest technology to luxury phone users. Both these phones brought quad-core processors and newest Android OS to luxury ph users, for the first time.
What does Vertu Aster bring to luxury phone users, as the new member of esteemed Vertu family? I’m afraid, not much.
Anyone buying a luxury phone priced 7-8 times more expensive than the latest iPhone or an Android super phone, expects to get equally good technology, if not better. Vertu phones are the most modish & technically advanced luxury phones. However, the performance of its devices is still not at par with much cheaper phones. Technically, Vertu Aster does not offer anything new that its predecessors have not, already. At a time when new software Android Lollipop has already, hit the market, Vertu Aster phones are boxed with older Jellybean Android OS.
What’s new in Vertu Aster design? Back side D-link sim case, seen in Signature Touch and Constellation is given a miss. Instead, sim tray is added to the side of phone. Aster also delivers some of the contemporary elements already found in other Vertu phones. For example the traditional V pillow is made of titanium and uses clean horizontal lines and a simple geometry. The strong vertical sides are created by cutting a scoop into the titanium and using different finishes to bring the profile to life.
