It’s time for wearable tech to dress up, look sharp and get a ‘swiss made’ tag. I have seen so many wearable gadgets with pathbreaking tech launch, in last 2 years. A pair of glasses that functions like a phone. A watch that tells messages, heart rate. These wearable gadgets are plain, functional. None can make a style statement.
Here’s a good looking watch made by a fine Swiss watch maker, Jaeger LeCoultre that doubles up as wearable tech gadget! Jaeger LeCoultre in association with Aston Martin has innovated a watch that can unlock and lock any model of Aston Martin sports car. Note, its a swiss watch inside that screen and no quartz movement!
Jaeger LeCoultre Aston Martin watch or AMVOX2 Transponder, incorporates a miniature transmitter system serving to lock and unlock any model of Aston Martin sports car.
Jaeger LeCoultre Aston Martin watch is primarily a chronograph that has an additional feature to start a car from a distance. This Jaeger LeCoultre 2014 watch can be controlled by simply tapping on the sapphire dial screen. The transponder module, connector and signal antenna have been miniaturised by means of a complete redesign from a watchmaking perspective. Jaeger LeCoultre spent 18 months of research, working in close collaboration with Aston Martin.
The Jaeger LeCoultre Aston Martin watch AMVOX2 Transponder maintains its unique vertical-trigger chronograph functions. A feature seen before in JLC AMVOX, earlier watches. Like all revolutionary inventions, this system seems so simple and straightforward. Quite simply, pressing at 12 o’clock stops or starts the chronograph mechanism. While pressing at the bottom of dial resets the chronograph hands to zero.
Jaeger LeCoultre Aston Martin watch (as I like to call it) functions on a mechanical movement. JLC calibre 751E is the engine. The watch can contain 65 hours of power reserve. Case is made in Titanium and is water resistant to 6 bars. Strap is made of calfskin leather.
The Jaeger LeCoultre Aston Martin watch’s ability to lock and unlock a car is small yet, very important advancement seen in swiss watch making. It isn’t easy to marry modern technology with mechanical swiss watch! JLC has done a commendable job here!
