Left Handed Panerai 2014: Luminor with 47 mm Dial

LEFT HANDED PANERAI 2014- LUMINOR 1950 47 MM

‘Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante 8 days Titanio’ is the new chronograph in the left-handed watch collection, of Offiicine Panerai. This left handed Panerai 2014 watch has a large face with 47mm brushed titanium dial, done beautifully in alternating brown shades. A natural brown leather strap combined with the titanium case, makes this timepiece look effortlessly handsome.

The Titanio carries several remarkable elements, seeped deep in Panerai’s history. Two things stand out immediately, about the Luminor 1950 47mm Chrono Monopulsante 1) It’s a single button chronograph 2) It’s a “left handed watch”.

LEFT HANDED PANERAI 2014- LUMINOR 1950 47 MM titanio

The new left handed Panerai 2014 Luminor Titanio is powered by calibre P.2004. For starters, the P.2004 calibre is the first, in-house developed chronograph movement, by Panerai. What’s special about this movement? Gears and wheels offer a single button start/stop chronograph option, as well as a chrono reset.

Interestingly, the 47mm case of left handed Panerai 2014 watch was initially designed in the 50’s and was designed to be worn over a dive-suit. Now, this watch would be worn more, to make a fashion statement.

The need to free left wrist for more important diving instruments, called for the design to make it a “left handed watch”. Yet, to maintain austerity, the chronograph push button was neatly placed, at 2’oclock. Watch dial is crafted for clearer readability. The graduations on main dial offer closer readings for this “time grapher”.

But what’s a chronograph if you don’t highlight its ability to record time. A unique function – is the movement of minute counter at the 9’oclock position. Surprisingly, it doesn’t move continuously. It jumps, i.e. it moves a position forward at the completion of exactly one minute. Sounds very quartz –like! This movement avoids uncertainty in the hand movement. Even the small seconds hand can be returned to zero position by pulling the crown out once. Ideal for matching a time signal.

The only down side of this Panerai 8 day watch is that it might already be too late to get your hands on one. Production is limited to just 300 watches. For those who’ll own it, it’s a perfect combination of brain and brawn. Sporty for a dress watch. It is also apt for your adventures.
